At Gamescon one company, by announcing a third party exclusive, effectively declared they wanted to play dirty. What do you expect their competitor to do, roll over and die? Now their competitor is taking steps to remain competitive and this blog writes this me-is-cry article!
This week there is a lot of good will towards PlayStation - Greenberg must be feeling the pressure. However this is a disgusting move that is unprofessional and anti-gamer. Phill Spencer had some manners and congratulated PlayStation for 20 years. But Phil needs to control him, the worst thing is that he demonstrated bad judgement by promoting Greenberg over Phil Harrison.
The worst thing is that this damages the Xbox brand that Spencer has been trying so hard to rebuild. Gr...
I don't think sister-site Polygon.com would ever do that. Thank God for the more balanced approach of Nilay Patel.
No new footage. This is two guys from the deep South of the USA talking with very thick accents. And it's difficult to understand what language they are speaking.
And he says this during the weekend of all the PlayStation Experience celebrations? A tad rude.
He must really want people to not forget the Xbox!
Title is a bit of click-bait because it doesn't obviously troll any other company. If the writer interprets that it's fine but it certainly shouldn't be used for an article title.
It's nice that he had some professional courtesy, unlike Greenberg and hits trolling tweets. But what office noticed is that Spencer pays very close attention to the moves that Sony is making, so I absolutely expect to see an Xbox experience next year!
The reasons in the video were apparently written by Sarkesian's writing partner - but half of them sound like reasons you can't criticise her. Certainly anybody who does so, even in a respectful manner, is made a pariah by the established gaming press. Most of the hacks in the video demonstrate what is wrong in the industry.
I do think there should be more respect given to female gamers and there are plenty who are raising the issue like Indie Gamer Chick and Jennie B...
This result is not a surprise to me because when I've used Siri (it uses Bing) to tell me the best selling gaming console of the year it always says Xbox One!
I believe Microsoft have individuals who curate the results so Xbox One always comes out first. But ultimately this means the results don't have the authority of Google search.
I think they are hoping some of that The Last of Us magic will rub off on Rise of the Tomb Raider. But I doubt the claim that it will be an 'Uncharted killer'!
Phil Spencer should be credited for getting XBO back in the game. But he should also be criticised for his anti-gamer policies which include paying to restrict content on other platforms, paying to restrict features resolution parity, and demanding parity from indie developers.
In the UK and Europe and other EMEA territories and Japan and Asia it's not to early to call, and you don't need me to say who because you already know.
Greenberg is trying to show that XBOs have sold out and PS4s have not been selling. But the reality is when a retail store have a major product they know sells well then they stock up on it.
Also, if there are XBOs available in the store then he is misrepresenting reality, for a fanboy that's ok, for an executive that behavior is just unprofessional.
Spencer has been able to keep Greenberg on a leash for a while, but he is slipping up. Greenberg represent...
When does the Apple boss ever praise the Samsung boss, or the Samsung boss ever praise HTC?
Phil Spencer knows that the computer and video game community are very active and he most likely wants to impress the NeoGaf N4G crowd.
Ubisoft said on the release of the second patch for consoles that they tested reducing the crowd numbers but that didn't improve performance.
However they are contradicting themselves because they previously said the reason PS4 didn't have 1080p is because of the computational power needed for the crowds!
Is it possible that they entered into an exclusive partnership with another company?
It's very close to release to be delayed so I'm wondering if it is not down to being incomplete but more to do with not being lost amongst the triple A multi-platform games? It's a shame as it would have been nice if XBO had an exclusive to appeal to the family audience.
Gaming Bolt has its faults but at leas they've done a comparison.
Look at Digital Foundry who claim in every one of their recent test that the XBO versions have parity or are superior to the PS4 versions.
It's funny how Dragon Age: Inquisition that is 900p on XBO and 1080p on PS4, yet they've decided to remain quiet like a church mouse by not comparing!
Although those blacks in the XBO version are looking crushed, in real terms both PS4 and XBO versions look near identical from those pics.
Credit to Rockstar who made PS4 the lead console platform and hit 1080p then made sure the XBO matched it graphically. It's a far better approach then Ubisoft who decided to set AC Unity at 900p for parity, which meant neither PS4 or XBO reach their potential.
Haters gonna hate.
I really enjoyed watching the live style format playthrough. But it was a recording! Sony knew everything that was in the video, ånd still wanted to show it! including the player dying which made it more real.
